another working week, another fun weekend
all work and no play makes me a dull boy...
Well, the week is over and here comes the weekends!
On friday, I went out for steamboat with Nis, Gabrianna, Judith, Yu Cheng, Mr. Tan and Mr Varga. We went to Yuen Steamboat at Mentari. It was goooooood!!!! It was Mr. Varga's 1st time eating steamboat, so he was pretty excited about it. He didnt know what he was suppose to do, being his 1st time and all, so he said "I'll just do whatever you do, amir. So lead along!" ahaha
So we started off the evening by trying to teach Mr. Varga some chinese words, like leng lui, leng chai, some of the different pronounce of it and more la. I cant understand chinese so i was pretty lost. Mr. Tan came late, thats why we were doing what we did. We actually waited for him to arrive before starting, something he surely wouldnt do himself, ahahah
Anyways, we started without him. The food was cooked and it was delicious! Yum Yum! I ate alot of fishballs, ahaha Mr. Varga wanted to try one but i kept on stealing all of it before he had time to scoop any out! " I wanna try those fishballs, but amir just kept on getting to it before i could!"
Then there was Gabrianna. Her appetite should be illegal. She ate ALOT and she's tiny! I really dont know how these kind of people eat so much and still maintain their body shape, ahahah. I wish i could do that! Nis, on the other hand, ate quite alot too and she was really quite. She says its normal but i never noticed it before.
We passed the night by just sharing stories with each other. Mr Varga had alot to tell and it was really interesting. Some of them we really funny too. Mr Tan came late and went home early, btw.
Well, that about it. Saturday(today) would be the trek up Bukit Kutu. Have to be in college by 6am that why im writing, to kill time. Sadly, Nis cant go so it wont be the same =(

Lepok Falls
Another weekend, another waterfall.
This time it was Lepok Falls in Ulu Langat. To me, this trek was abit challenging. The trail leading to the waterfall was challenging, so was it when we we're decending. I think it rained the day before, thats why the trail was all muddy and slippery. There was this one part where it was a steep climb up a very muddy trail. It was quite tiring going up, coming back down was a different case. Miss a step and you'll be rolling all the way down!
Anyways, we reached the waterfalls and, as usual, it was beautiful! Here's a picture of the waterfall:

So when we reached the waterfall, while most of us was still unpacking our stuff, Kourosh was already sliding down the waterfall. Next, Nis followed and she too went sliding down, though she bounced up and down most of the time. I wanted to go and slide too and i did though not from all the way up. I seriously couldn't see how they managed to get all the way up there. So I settled for half-a-slide and slid down!
Btw, the water was cold, freezing cold and when you'd get out of the water, there is a slight breeze from the falls which makes you even more cold. God, everyone was freezing. Mr. Varga and I left our towels back in the car and we regretted it. He was like "Nah, we don't need towels!"
So yeah, we had fun at the waterfalls. Swam around, ate nasi lemak (Well, I did. The rest of them ate sandwiches), splashed water all around, swam abit more and then it was time to trek back.
Like i said, the trek down is the most challenging part to me. After what happened in Bukit Tabur, I'm not taking any chances. Was super extra carefull on the way down, mainly cause it more slippery and muddy.
Here's what my shoes looked like after the trek:

At least there wasnt any leeches or i think Mr.TMC would've killed me.
It rained heavily on the way back to sunway and we got lost twice. It took sometime to get back on the right road but atleast we did, even in the heavy rain. By then, everyone was seriously hungry and tired. So we (Mr Varga, Miss Shimah, Nis, Kourosh, Chee Chang and I) went to Bidara for dinner. We were suppose to go to Yuen Steamboat cause Mr. Varga has never ate steamboat before but the restaurant was full and there was even a line outside. So yeah, we settled for Bidara.
We were bullying Nis at Bidara, saying that, with an empty stomach, she cannot think or basically do anything right! hahaha poor Nis
Then, it was back home for everyone and onto our comfy beds...after a shower, of course! (Im not that crazy to not take a shower, Nis. hahah)
Here's another picture of the trek up to Lepok Falls:

Maybe i should start making an online photo album...
*More pictures to come*
I made another blog out of pure boredom at Blogspot.com. It'll just be a carbon copy of this blog and I'll post on both blogs. The link is zeronuker.blogspot.com

dreams will come crashing down...
life is not all its hyped up to be....
be grateful, dont ever complain about life...
nis and i went skating, we held hands, we were happy, we let go and...
dreams came crashing down,
burdens of my reality settled firmly on my shoulders.
i'll do what humans do best, i'll keep on trying,
even if it tears my heart into pieces...

Re: Optimal Production Levels for CD-ROM Games
Dear Advanced Functions and Introductory Calculus Students:
I am the president of a discount computer game company. Our sales have been suffering for the last year because our average production cost has risen to 9.60 RM per game, exceeding our sales price of 9.40 RM each. We currently sell 1000 units per day. In addition to losing money, we are in some other serious trouble because our financial controller took a job with a competitor, and subsequently all our cost-accounting records mysteriously disappeared.
About a month before the controller left, he proposed that we could get "out of the red" by dropping our price to 7.90 RM per game. He indicated that by dropping our price, we would be able to secure additional customers that would result in sales increasing to 2000 units per day. In turn, he said, we would start garnering profits of 200 RM per day at the 2000 unit sales level. Of course I immediately dismissed his idea because the 7.90 RM price is 1.70 RM less than our average production cost. To me it seemed obvious that this price decrease would only exacerbate our losses. In hindsight, however, I am wondering if maybe our controller was right after all. That is why I am bringing your team into the picture.
I need your expertise in advanced functions and calculus to determine, first, if we can make a profit of 200 RM per day with a 7.90 RM price and sales of 2000 units per day, and second, what the optimum production level would be at the 7.90 RM price. The only cost-accounting information that I can share with you is that our variable costs depend solely on the square of the number of games made. I do not know what our fixed costs are. I would appreciate it if all of your calculations for cost, revenue and profit were kept on a per-day basis as that is what I am used to working with.
Please prepare a 10 minute presentation and short 1-2 page summary report that explains all your work as you:
a. determine the cost structure (fixed and variable costs) for manufacturing games;
b. confirm or deny that it is possible to have a profit of 200 RM per day at the 7.90 RM price and 2000 unit sales level;
c. determine the optimum level of production/sales at the 7.90 RM price; and
d. describe how it is possible that dropping the price below the current average price can increase the profits of my company.
Good luck and thank you in advanced for all your hard work.
Yours truly,
Tan Sri Wong Kwan Hoi
President and CEO

have time, will blog!
hmmm where to start off?
well, last week was another typical week la, not much different.
Friday was kinda fun though! me, azmir, his friends pinky and some korean dude (kim, i think), cheese, his friends greg and sueann (dunno how to spell =P) and intan and jeanne went ice skating! it was azmir's 1st time in his life and surprisingly he didnt fall.
as for me, it was my 1st time skating in almost 6 years. my last skating was a bad experience cause....i went skating, then when we wanted to go back, my mom's car got stolen, hahaha.
the skating was fun, took sometime to remember back but at least i didnt fall!!! but now i've 1 blister and its killing my leg....i've never had blister before in my life, seriously. 1st time for everything la rite! then we went and ate at ichiban dashi. god knows what i ate la....i think it was Japanese Fried Rice and Japanese Gyoza. the fried rice was really something la, damn nice! i've got no idea what was in the japanese gyoza but i just ate it. skating builds up an appetite you know!
then it was daytona! that korean dude is damn good! he's a pro, nuff said hahaha
guess what my mom bought on saturday...... =)
46" Flat Panel LCD TV
got a free dvd player with it, it arrived on sunday, hooked up my wifi, and watched.....lots of stuff, dvd's i got from aussie! original dvd's for only $10, thats freaking cheap wei!
last week was a hell week for nis, coming week will be MY hell week!
tests on tuesday (idc), wednesday (geo.) and thursday (calc.). on monday a presentation, portfolio due date and a quiz. on friday, not comfirmed, hahah but probably gonna be dead by then.
*off topic*
on saturday night, i had this dream (im not gonna say what i dreamt off) but it was really scary. i couldnt wake up, i remember it so clearly, i was in the dream, then i realise that i was dreaming, but i couldnt wake up, i just couldnt. i was aware that i was in a dream and theres nothing i can do to wake up. that feeling was seriously scary cause in the dream, i couldnt see clearly and that was what i was scared off the most, being blind....
then on sunday, nis came over to do her calc work! =)then we went out for dinner at Pizza Uno. we were suppose to go 1u ut in the end didnt go, instead its Pizza Uno! Its a nice place, food is good, price is reasonable, only thing i dont like is its pizza (weird right!). I dunno, i guess i never really like pizza where the bread just flops down....like tak bermaya only, ahahah.
so yeah, we makan2, had desert then went back la.... i wanna do it again, nis! =P
some random thoughts:
- do you believe in converts? as in those that would leave a religion to join a different one. for me, i've never agreed with it much. i mean, just say a christian converts into a muslim. okay fine, everythings ok. but whats stopping him/her from converting to a 3rd religion? he/she obviously had the will to convert but, yeah, whats stopping him/her from converting to another religion again? what you go to say about it?
i dont like to discriminate, neither should you, so if you dont like what im typing out, better stop reading now....
- okay, its general knowledge that no religion on earth condoles gays or lesbians or same sex marriage. so question is, what would you do if you saw any of the above? there is this case in canada where this guy just shot a gay for no apparent reason. when trialed in court, he pleaded not guilty and testified that he had done no crime. Even the judge was speechless. apparently, he got only 12 years in jail and the judge said that if there was a heavier punishment he would certainly have given it to him. but what do you think? if you see a gay or lesbian in the street, what would you do?
- i know what i would do....just ignore him/her. he/she is still a human with a life. who am i to take it? i wouldnt make friends or wtv with gays and such and that is my choice as it was your choice to be the way you are. so yeah, thats what i would do. just ignore it.
i dunno....i guess i've just been thinking too much about things that dont really matter. then again, whats the harm in just thinking right?
guess i can safetly say....I think too much =)
